Richardson Supports Literacy

Readers as well as the City of Richardson officials came to the 2nd Annual Buns and Roses Romance Tea for Literacy. The Mayor Pro-Tem, Bob Townsend, was a bit amused by all the hatted (and non-hatted) women chatting, buying books and enjoying a Sunday afternoon at a "tea" with romance authors.

Buns & Roses Rocked Richardson, Texas!

Fun people, yummy food, a wonderful speaker, unbelievable raffle items, and twenty-five fabulous romance authors hosting tables and signing their latest releases...it was an unforgettable event! Here are a few photos:

Some of the Buns & Roses authors:
Jade Lee, Dixie Cash, keynote speaker Vicki Lewis Thompson,
Cindy Dees, Kara Lennox, and Anna Jeffrey.

The ladies from the Red Hat Society made a spectacular
appearance, hosted by author Judy Christenberry.

Don Ramsey looked dashing in his kilt as he whetted
everyone's appetite for a trip to the highlands of Scotland.

The winners of the two big raffle prizes: Round trip tickets for
two aboard American Airlines, and a week's stay for eight
at a Scottish hunting lodge. Do these ladies look
happy, or what?

Geralyn Dawson's shark hat attacking the feathers on
Kara Lennox's hat. This is not a stuffy event.

Buns & Roses was a blast. I can't wait until next year!

Buns & Roses amazing success!

Buns & Roses: A Tea for Literacy just proved that romance authors and their readers are among the most fun folks around.

DARA and FreshFiction had all the right contacts to make our tea party a roaring success.

The 2007 Buns event was delicious, pretty, and exciting. Richardson, Texas, is THE PLACE TO BE in October.

I'll just bet that Nora Roberts, Jayne Ann Krentz or Susan Elizabeth Phillips would love to be asked to be the keynote speaker at the 2008 Tea.

Buns and Roses 2007 is over

Now is the chance to post your own thoughts, stories, photos and opinions about the 2007 Buns and Roses Romance Tea for Literacy.
